Unlike guitar, drumming is easy for children aged 3-6 to learn. Believe me I know – my son has been playing since he was 6 months old.

I just started recording with a Rode NT2-A wide diaphragm condensor microphone. You can get them now for around $550 AU (ignore the $940 sticker on the box in the music store! If you don’t ask for a discount they’ll happily let you pay it)
It’s a great mic on a budget, especially for vocal recordings. I highly recommend it.
